Controversy is not something new when it comes to Low Energy Nuclear Reactions and Andrea Rossi’s unit. When the Italian scientist announced to the public that he has invented a device that uses nickel and hydrogen to produce heat, he received heavy skepticism especially from the scientific community.
Rossi’s e-cat was first mostly considered as a fraud. When it successfully delivered during e-cat test in Italy on October 28, changes began to surface. Mainstream media started to take notice of the technology.
The most important news so far was NASA’s involvement in Rossi’s e-cat. Reports stated that the US space agency is interested in the technology that is known as the first commercially successful LENR. NASA has always been very active in supporting LENR. The organization believes in LENR and rumor has it that they are conducting a study and research on its further development. Many people even believed that NASA was actually Rossi’s first client that preferred to stay out of the spotlight. However, NASA did not confirm the rumours.
As a matter of fact, NASA never claimed that they believe in Rossi’s e-cat. They only expressed great interest in LENR, which many people refer as “cold fusion”. According to NASA and Andrea Rossi, too, LENR is not cold fusion.
As further read, it’s interesting to check some of the articles by software engineer Mark. D. Nispel related to NASA’s interest in LENR.
A more recent article shows that Nispel’s information largely depends on the three PDF documents that were released recently under the pressure of Freedom of Information Act. The files contained presentations by Joseph Zawodny, Michael Nelson, and Dennis Bushnell of NASA on LENR. They presented them during the workshop held on September 22 at the Glenn Research Center in Cleveland, Ohio.
The files stated major highlights about LENR as a possible source of energy, confirming the importance of Rossi’s research and device now more than ever.
