What happens inside an E-Cat unit?

Cold-fusion is becoming a new reality!

Continuing the research of Fleischmann and Pons, Rossi and his colleagues came up with his so-called hypothetical device named E-Cat. This device, which utilizes a vague fusion reaction between nickel and hydrogen, is capable of producing clean energy at very low cost. They energy produced in this device is clean, because of the fact that this device doesn’t use fission reaction and thus no radioactive waste.

Two nuclei of light elements are merged to from heavier elements, e.g. two deuterium nuclei fused together to give helium nucleus with a large amount of energy. This was the small detail mentioned by the scientists who made this device, the E-Cat. However, this insignificant detail leaves many questions unanswered: to bring two nuclei requires high temperatures and pressures are required to overcome the big electrostatic repulsion between the nuclei.

Achieving this goal is expensive and difficult because the fusion of two nuclei at room temperature is almost impossible. How did Andrea Rossi and his colleagues make a device that is capable of doing just the same?

It is very much clear that this discovery would undoubtedly modernize the way we work. E-Cat can overcome all the social conflicts that rule the world now-a-days. Not only it will resolve the problems related to energy, but also release the economic pressure. Is this the time to say good-bye to oil, coal and nuclear fission reactions, which are major threats to human race?

This question is yet unanswered because Andrea Rossi and his colleagues haven’t provided substantial proofs of the working of their device.

On third of May, at the University of Pavia, Focardi was to give a lecture on how they achieved what that was unthinkable. Focardi and Rossi had a task of explaining this to the scientific community. Many eminent scholars had a goal in their mind: to know more about the wondrous device. But alas! They went home disappointed: Very little information about the E-Cat device was given out.

Scientific community all over the world is having second thoughts about the discovery of E-Cat. Absence of data, graphs, measurements and equations to demonstrate the production of energy by Low energy Nuclear Reactions, proves that the mind behind the discovery of this wondrous device is uncertain about his own discovery. If we over-view the past, we conclude that these kind of hypothetical discoveries were abundant. A true discovery calls for detailed demonstration of the E-Cat device through unambiguous data. Only then in makes sense to lurk for theoretical explanation.

They are being questioned not only by scientists, but also by the foundation on which physics is based: The Scientific Method. The conference infers that Focardi explained what exactly happens inside an E-Cat cell: reaction between nickel, hydrogen and the secret catalyst, but is quiet about how the fusion reaction occurs at room-temperature. Despite of that, Rossi and Focardi claimed that they have started to construct these devices on large scale.

The scientific community would not need a comprehensive theoretical explanation, but some facts to back the discovery. They want to walk out of the dilemma that this discovery has given them. Yes, we are obliged to believe, but than again, who should be believe? We believe in Dirac and his statements because many experiments have proved those statements right. On the contrary, we neither find experiments, nor we find theoretical proves to back the discovery of this device.
