Andrea Rossi Interview – Inventor of the Energy Catalyzer

Below follows an excerpt from an interview with Mr. Rossi  from the blog 22 Passi.

22PASSI: Hello Mr. Rossi, thank you for accepting this interview. Everyone is eager to know how came up with an idea of Energy Catalyst. Some people thought that you have seized the idea of other researchers such as Professor Riantelli, who, in the past, collaborated with Professor Focardi to research cold fusion. Can you explain why, when , how and where you started working on this project?

Rossi: I started working on this project in 1987. Obviously, my method differs from previous attempts that were made in order to generate energy by using cold fusion. It is apparent that no one has been able to produce a machine that really works. These facts actually count, not speeches.

22PASSI: The date 1987 is two years before the Fleishmann and Pons experiment. Recently, you said that the term “cold fusion” is not appropriate to define the reaction that occurs in your reactor. By that, do you mean that you have followed a different path which is parallel to that of research on cold fusion?

Rossi: Yes! Exactly, it is not cold fusion but a low energy nuclear reaction. Fleischmann and Pons did electrolysis of heavy water with a palladium cathode and a platinum anode, but I neither used any electrolysis, nor palladium or platinum.

22PASSI: The fact that you have built something that works without a scientific theoretical model that explains why and how it works, people have fears about the safety of the device. What can you tell us about it?

Rossi: I have a very clear idea of what is happening inside the device. But to explain it, it is necessary that the patent is approved. For now, we are able to demonstrate that the engines are operating, they do not emit radiation and, furthermore, they can be used without any risk.

22PASSI: It appears that you have filed the patent under the name of your wife, why?
Rossi: Excuse me, but I think this has nothing to do with scientific research.

22PASSI: Can you explain the different roles that you and Professor. Focardi have played in making the device?

Rossi: I invented the method and device. Prof. Focardi played a fundamental role as an adviser on the basis of a well defined contract. His contributions were crucial in the experimental phase, in the research method, and also for safety systems. Thanks to his remarkable experience.

22PASSI: What is the role of the University of Bologna in making of the device?
Rossi: With the University of Bologna we signed a research contract whose objectives are to study the radiation and the development of certain details.

22PASSI: It is clear that the trade secrets will be revealed once the catalyst will be in the market. Are you going to allow an independent laboratory to peek inside your device after it is marketed, or before?
Rossi: We have to build facilities that maintain the guarantees in the contract. Customers must comply with the instructions for security reasons. However, customers will be completely free in their facilities to perform any tests on the device.

22PASSI: Among those who believe that Energy Catalyzer works, some fear that this invention can burry the market of fossil fuels. And thus they might be ready to pay the price to enclose your invention in a double-locked drawer.
Rossi: They must first pass through my body. This technology is the meaning of my life.

22PASSI: Do you think this discovery could endanger your life?

Rossi: I think that they try to eliminate me more subtly, as they did eight years ago with the Omar-Petroldragon. But now the Internet is there, and the press no longer has the same power as before to destroy someone.

22PASSI: You announced that you will soon introduce a new prototype 1MW (by putting in series or in parallel). Can you explain how that will happen?
Rossi: It happens exactly as you said, the modules, similar to that which has been verified in Bologna, are connected in series to increase the temperature, and in parallel to increase the energy at constant temperature.

22PASSI: You also announced that a society, Defkalion Energy, was formed in Athens. It will handle the production of catalysts. Can you give us some details about it?
Rossi: It is a European NewCo, connected to larger operators. The company will hold a press conference shortly to announce its existence to the public.

22PASSI: One last question: the dependence of fossil fuels will be quenched by this new invention. Do you think that cost of energy will decrease more and more?
Rossi: Honestly, this is precisely why I think it is worthwhile to work.

22PASSI: On behalf of all visitors, thank you again for your time.

Rossi: Thank you all.
