After all of the excitement about the release of third party reports concerning the E-Cat, the community has encountered a lull in information. Andrea Rossi said, back at the beginning of summer, that big news would be released, soon, about the E-Cat and its manufacture.
Since then, he has shared, on the Journal of Nuclear Physics, that he’s had trouble finding Stirling Engines available that can keep up with the manufacturing schedule of the E-Cat.
Rossi also says that they are still working on the technology. Steven Karels, a frequent commenter on the JONP, recently asked the inventor:
“Any update on the system installed in the USA?
Is it still operating?
Has anyone outside the company observed it?”
Andrea Rossi’s reply didn’t provide any insight:
“The E-Cat is undergoing in the USA a long process, involving many changes as the technology moves forward. This process will continue as long as needed before any specific information is given.”
And, again, Fabio82 – who also comments frequently on the JONP – asked:
“…should be possible to see a photo from the inside of the new factory?”
To which Rossi replied:
“Sorry, no photos at all will be anymore released to the public until we will decide to present the working plants. The E-Cat technology is undergoing rigorous testing and the results – positive, negative or inconclusive – will provide further guidance about its potential. It will take an unforeseeable amount of time before we will make public any precise information regarding the E-Cat under scrutiny in the USA.”
The first E-Cat and Hot Cat sold to a civilian were delivered this spring to a U.S. customer. The promise was, at the time, that once this customer had his units up and running, and was comfortable with allowing it, visitors would be welcomed. It’s been about 4 months, and the E-Cat community still does not know the identity of the customer.
The E-Cat and Hot Cat have both been certified, the manufacturing plant is under construction, and an appropriate generator is being sought for electrical production in conjunction with the power generated by this technology. Of course, Andrea Rossi continues to work on the technology. The last time he went somewhat silent, leaving the E-Cat community in the dark, he emerged on the other side of the silence with the Hot Cat. Let’s hope that this will happen again, soon.
