Prof. Stremmenos shares his view on the break between Rossi & Defkalion

The E-cat enthusiast, blogger and most of the time insider man, Italian Daniele Passerini, who also happens to be an old friend of Prof. Levi (University of Bologna) just released some interesting information on his well visited website.

In an email yesterday to Prof. Christos Stremmenos, Daniele asks what is going on between Defkalion and Mr. Rossi. Today Daniele got an answer back and with Prof. Stremmenos approval the email was published in full.

From  22Passi.blogspot.com translated with Google Translate:

“The writer in hierarchical order, has sought to pursue in his life and humbly serve the following VALUES:

  • scientific truth and its contribution anthropocentric … …
  • The values of culture, democracy, human civilization and environmental health as it develops.
  • My home country, Greece is not in parochial, but diachronically as a figure, bearing the above values.

For what concerns the first point, for intellectual honesty can confirm that based on my past experience, as the work of many other colleagues who have studied after 89 cold fusion or “nuclear reactions in the solid state”, aiming primarily demonstration of the existence of the phenomenon and its reproducibility was poor in all known to us. Ever since I converted, leaving the loaded electrolyte and opting for a more clean, ie the loading of nickel hydrogen gas (parallel research with S. Focardi and others), we believe that the phenomenon of nuclear fusion to Solid-state was a scientific fact but nothing more. Remained low production of excess energy, if the good reproducibility of the phenomenon was gradually improved …

…The unique method that far exceeds the above-mentioned problems and that makes nuclear reactions in the solid state, exploitable in the industry is that of Mr. ANDREA ROSSI in close collaboration with Prof. Sergio Focardi. A landmark event both for the prospect of gradual satisfaction of the energy needs in the world for the potential barrier that keeps us from the point of no return  on climate change on the planet …

…  I witnessed and participated in part, to the numerous tests and measurements, all performed with success in Bologna , not the one described in my informal relationship to the Greek government (07.07.11).

In the presence of Mr. Rossi, Prof. Focardi, Dr. Bianchini, the writer, we found, as in all other evidence, the absence of radioactivity (a slight increase within the allowed limits, measured by Dr. Bianchini) and the production of thermal energy of 10.6 kWh / h, largely self-sustained . The numerical calculation made by Mr. Rossi, it coincides perfectly and is in perfect agreement with my analytical calculation (through a special computer program) that rigorously evaluates the fundamental function enthalpy with general validity .

Mainly because my interest is and remains my contribution in the scientific and political level to encourage entrepreneurship and technology transfer Rossi in Greece, as I said earlier, my home, of course I regret this breach of origin purely financial … …  With the firm belief that those who have given this technology era, deserves absolute respect and consideration, I am consoled by my inclination to always look with optimism character to the forest and not the individual tree … “

cordial greetings

Ch Stremmenos

This letter confirms earlier reports from both Journal of Nuclear Physics and Defkalions press release to Ny Teknik about what the reason behind the break between Defkalion and EFA was. Note: EFA- Energia da Fonti Alternative srl, is the Italian Company through which the rights for the production of Andrea Rossi’s E-Cat.

The dispute between the two companies has left skeptics cheering in forums and email lists all over internet. But if we take the liberty to extract certain sentences from Prof. Christos Stremmenos letter:

  • “…production of thermal energy of 10.6 kWh / h, largely self-sustained”
  • “…rigorously evaluates the fundamental function enthalpy with general validity”
  • “…numerous tests and measurements, all performed with success in Bologna”
  • “A landmark event both for the prospect of gradual satisfaction of the energy needs in the world…”

And then add some of Andrea Rossi’s comments on Journal of Nuclear Physics yesterday:

  • “All our commercial programs will go ahead as usual”
  • “…we signed a tremendous contract in the USA”
  • “The 1 MW plant will go in Operation in the USA…”
  • “The Customer has already made plans for 1,000 plants in the USA, and has the financial dimension for this.”
  • “…it was already foreseen from me this USA plant, if you remember, I told months ago that we were preparing also a plant for the USA.”

A small thawed area starts to emerge on a frosted window full of skeptics. October is now only a few weeks away.

Question is: Will the generated heat defrost the skeptics before October or not?

  1. The latest hearsay is that Defkalion has multiple units being tested by the Greek government now, and had exceed Rossi months ago.  No wonder Defkalion is acting nice – they are rumored to have everything they want from Rossi but his patent.  No matter, with the US corporate gorilla backing Rossi, he is going to flood the market with American made 1 megawatt Rossi E-Cats.  The future is so bright we’ll have to wear shades – energy tens time cheaper than dirty coal, fuel so abundant we’ll virtually never run out, and the greenhouse gas problem licked by the market rather than by job killing regulations!!  Rossi is a modern day demigod Prometheus, and he’s come home to America!

  2. Unfortunately I know little of nuclear physics.   But as heat transfer specialist and process technologist in the oil industry I do know how to measure heat production and how to measure the heat in a 2-phase steam/water flow.  Unfortunately the tests that I have see in presence of Steven Krivit were not very convincing as Rossi presumed all the water to boil (which it does not).   So for the time being I remain sceptic.   I hope I am wrong because with this invention the economic crisis would be over very quickly.
