The term “cold fusion” is making an appearance in the media as Andrea Rossi and other scientists who experiment with LENR demonstrate their units. Rossi, right now, is the only inventor who actually has a certified power plant on the market, and it is being sold to certain individuals who will keep the operations secret until Leonardo Corp. is ready to allow general observations. However, the number of scientists who are experimenting with LENR has increased dramatically, and they are showing some success.
Professor Mark Prelas, back in 1991, was one of the few scientists who were able to reproduce the results that Fleischmann and Pons had achieved. His experiment produced “millions of neutrons”. However, his funding was cut off shortly afterward, when the whole science of cold fusion and LENR was discredited. Prelas went on to do other work.
However, according to the Kansas City Star, Prelas went to the cold fusion conference in August. This conference, held in South Korea, sparked his interest in the field once again.
Prelas is still at the University of Missouri, but now he works at the Sidney Kimmel Institute for Nuclear Renaissance, or SKINR, at that university. The institute was founded with a huge grant from the Kimmel foundation. While cold fusion is not the only science being researched at the institute, it is certainly a major part of the studies that take place there.
Both the Columbia Daily Tribune and the Kansas City Star report that Prelas has been able to reproduce the same amazing results that he had in his 1991 experiments. This means that he has, indeed, produced millions of neutrons in his cold fusion experiments. In fact, they reached a million neutrons over a one second time period. In addition, the reaction went on for 5 minutes. This was no brief flash of energy that may or may not occur, it was an actual sustained reaction that only stopped when they submerged their device in liquid nitrogen. Each time they restarted the device, they achieved the same results.
Of course, this is nothing new to those following Andrea Rossi and the Leonardo Corp., along with the development of the E-Cat and Hot Cat. The most important revelation to the LENR mainstream is that another major media outlet and major university has acknowledged the reality of LENR and cold fusion.
